So we are swamped right now with this mornings announcement by the Victorian government.
People living in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire and will now be required to wear a face covering or face mask when leaving home from Wednesday.
As you can imagine, our stock is selling out very quickly as of right now. If you haven't purchased your pre-order yet, please do so now to make sure you get your masks!
We certainly were not anticipating this morning's news and need your help to make sure you get your order. 🤕
This post is an update briefly outlining the Anti-Dust HEPA filter - as a lot of our customers have questions:
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Our mask is composed of 22% percent copper thread, and so the filter isn't our selling point. The copper mask itself is three layers. - the Anti-Dust HEPA filter, when added, adds three - in total of six protective layers.
WHAT MORE DO I GET?
This converts the filtration rating of our Copper Mask from KF80 (80% of ~0.6-0.3μm particles) to the equivalent KF94 (Rough US equivalent of PM 2.5 - see the difference here on "SmartFilters - What are the differences?)
DO I NEED EXTRA FILTERS?
In this current climate - the Anti-Dust HEPA filter is rated for pollution and is single use only. The mask is effective by itself without this filter, against droplet, aerosol particle transmission.
LONG STORY SHORT:
We do recommend the HEPA filters for industrial and personal close contact use where a higher need of particle filtration will be necessary, these instances will vary. As it is single use - for the most part, our mask, without the filter can be helpful in day to day situations. We will let our customers decide - but our testing page provides more information for a better, informed decision.
💥 31st of July edit:
We've received a lot of questions regarding the length of time you can use the Anti Dust HEPA filter. The short answer is - because it is encased by the Copper Mask - and isn't directly deteriorated by moisture on the outside, it is suitable for an entire days use, unless moisture will deteriorate the fibres.
We have found that it's a bit tricky at the moment to place as it may be shifted - we do understand that in this time it might be imperative to use - we reiterate that it is for general use only.
